Phuyu [“cloud” in Quechua] is a 2-ply lofty bulky merino wool yarn. It is super soft, squishy and a dream to work with. The colours on wool are rich and saturated as natural dyes are best friends with animal fibres! These yarn work so well with punch needle projects too, think fluffy pillows and decorative throws.

All Pichinku yarns are lovingly dyed in small batches by the skilled hands of women artisans in Cusco, Peru. The yarn we receive are limited to stock on hand each season and help to support the native women who dye them. Please be aware that there could be slight variations in every skein due to the hand-dyed nature of these yarn, colours will differ from different dye batches so it is highly recommended to get extra.

We absolutely love using this yarn for quick knits, weaving and punch needling. They are so plushy and the colours are gorgeous!

NOTE

Please note that colours will vary between computer-phone-tablet monitors and dye baths, and though we try our best to post colour-accurate photos, variations should be anticipated. Natural dyes fade beautifully with time and may run a bit when washed but will retain their vibrancy with proper care. For any questions or concerns about colour exactness, please visit our studio to look and feel the yarn in person!
