Many of you asked what else can be done with a punch needle art than using it for display so I've designed this two-part workshop for all of you who've attended my chunky punch needle class, and of course those who wish to pick up this new craft too!
You will be required to use the sewing machine to sew your cushion so it is recommended you know the basics. If you need a quick refresher / basic sewing class, please contact us to arrange a separate session before the scheduled workshop.
Part 1: Design Your Own Cushion and Punch
Part 2: How To Finish and Sew Your Punch Needle Piece Into Cushion
For those who've attended my class or already owned a #10 Reg oxford punch needle:
Select BYO PUNCH under 'Workshop Options'
(Bring your own oxford punch needle and enjoy $40 discount.)
For those who are starting out:
Select below the FULL CLASS under 'Workshop Options'.
Please note this workshop is held in our studio. We have limited the class size to a maximum of 4 participants to ensure there is sufficient distance between participants. All participants will have to check in using the QR code, have temperature taken and must have their face masks on at all times in the studio.
You'll learn how to stretch monk's cloth on a large wooden frame, design your cushion cover, plan colour scheme and calculate amount of yarn for each section, and learn to punch and complete part of the piece. At the end of 3 hours, we will then pack all the materials so you can continue to finish punching at home. Make sure you schedule time to complete the punch needle side at home before part 2 of the workshop.
We will then remove the completed punch needle work, draft cushion cover patterns, cut and sew your punch needle piece into a cushion cover.
