We are very privileged to work with and learn from a handful of very talented artisans in Peru, Indonesia and India, and hope to spread the knowledge and artistry through our classes.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a workshop happens over \u003cstrong\u003e3 Consecutive Days\u003c\/strong\u003e where you’ll learn the art and science behind natural dyeing and get hands on dyeing up fabric swatches. Each day will start at 10am and end around 3pm with a short lunch break in between. Note lunch is born by participants and is not included in course fees.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eDyeing alongside you in our cozy shophouse studio holds a special place in my heart. This is my daily workspace, and I take immense pride in opening it up to you, allowing you to witness the daily studio life up close.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis workshop is open to guests from all around the world. Regardless of your place of origin, everyone gathers at our studio at 10am on the first day of the workshop. For participants not residing in Singapore, we can recommend accommodation close by for your convenience.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThroughout the workshop, we will cover the following topics:\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003col\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFamiliarise with commonly used dye plants\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eProper handling of different fibres (wool, silk \u0026amp; cotton)\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eMordanting cellulose \u0026amp; protein fibres\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003ePreparing the dye baths\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDyeing with dried plants such as Madder Root and Dyer's Coreopsis Flowers\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eDyeing with Cochineal\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eExperience Indigo dyeing\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eShifting colours with modifiers\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003eFinishing techniques\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ol\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePlease come dressed in clothes that you don’t mind getting some dye on. Aprons and gloves will be provided if you need them.
