What is Bundle Dyeing? You probably guessed it right, it literally mean bundle + dye!
Have you always wondered about how pigment from plants dye fabric? This workshop is a great introduction to natural dyeing! Come take your first step into dyeing with plants and learn the beauty of botanical colours. Botanical dyeing is safe, non-toxic and super fun. You'll learn about the chemistry behind natural dyeing, blend natural dyes for making your own paint palette, and make natural dye prints.
Each participant will be dyeing a 90x90cm hand-rolled hem, silk satin scarf (the classic Hermés scarf size) using natural dyes, leaves and flowers, and cochineal. Participants are also encouraged bring your own plant or old floral bouquet too – great for making a nice memory last! Once your scarves are painted, sprinkled and bundled, they will be steamed. While we wait, we will savour tea and share creative ways you can wear your scarf.
This workshop is limited to cozy group of 6 persons per slot and requires a minimum of 4 to commence.
