This collection was designed to celebrate Singapore's 60th Year of Independence. Inspired by Peranakan tiles seen on conserved shophouses here, these wooden printing blocks honour both our Singapore heritage and traditional Indian craftsmanship.
They are made from sustainable, quality shesham wood (aka Indian rose wood) by a small family of block carvers in India. As these blocks are hand carved one at a time, there may be a slight variation in size from the photo shown. We photograph each product to show as best as possible the details and quality.
Size: approximately 8 x 8 cm
We hold Indian block printing workshops too, where you can print a scarf or tea towels. More details here.
