Natural dyes were the only colours used before the first synthetic dye was invented in 1856 meaning all dyes used before came from mother nature – plants, insects, minerals etc. The age old craft of natural dyeing is still practised in many parts of the world however only very few places still do it today. We are very privileged to work with and learn from a handful of very talented artisans in Peru, Indonesia and India, and hope to spread the knowledge and artistry through our classes.
This is a workshop happens over 3 Consecutive Days where you’ll learn the art and science behind natural dyeing and get hands on dyeing up fabric swatches. Each day will start at 10am and end around 3pm with a short lunch break in between. Note lunch is born by participants and is not included in course fees.
