Needle felting is a craft where you stab wool with a barbed needle, over and over until it turns into something. It is far more therapeutic than that sentence makes it sound.
There's no glue and no water needed. With just wool and a needle, a shape slowly form under your hands. It's also one of the most forgiving crafts to get started, nothing is ever ruined because you can always add more wool and keep going.
Over two hours you'll learn the fundamentals properly, blend your own colours from carded wool, sculpt a shape, and finish it with hardware so it becomes something you'd actually wear.
You'll take home a needle felting starter kit too, so the fun doesn't stop when the session does.
The fundamentals How the barbed needle actually works, how to hold it, how to build shape and density.
Choosing your fibre Not all wool felts the same way. You'll learn which fibres suit which type of projects.
Blending your own colours Carded wool can be mixed like paint. You'll blend your own shades rather than limiting yourself from whatever is available in store.
Sculpting shape Building form, adding definition and getting from fluffy wool to something tactile from your imagination.
Attaching hardware The step that turns a felted object into a statement accessory you can pin on, hang up or wear out.
Tips and tricks The practical shortcuts and fixes that take years to work out shared in an afternoon.
Everyone goes home with a needle felting starter kit to continue this fun craft at home. This also means you can enjoy a more relaxed pace sculpting something to your heart's desire.
Children aged 6 and above are very welcome to join, with one participating adult.
Needle felting suits children unusually well. It doesn't demand drawing skill and it's forgiving enough to keep the child motivated. We'll cover safe needle handling properly at the start and the adult stays involved throughout.
It's one of the few crafts where a child and a grown-up can genuinely work side by side, making something together.

Felting needles are sharp. We cover safe handling at the start and will always be guiding you throughout the process.
Wear something comfortable. Wool fibres do like to attach themselves to dark clothing, do bear that in mind if you're going somewhere afterwards.
The session runs for two hours, which is enough to finish a piece. You are more than welcome to start your second piece if time permits.
